Information You Provide
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the independent provider that produces the result. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it to respond.
Information Collected Automatically
Our host records standard server-log details, such as an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review this information in aggregate for site operation and to understand which resources are used. Cookies and similar tools may be used for basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
How We Use Collected Information
We use the limited information to run the service, address technical issues, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create profiles of individual visitors.
External Sites and Tools
Paterson Residents Directory links to county and state record portals, archival and library collections, and independent search tools. Their own privacy notices govern the information you provide after leaving this service. That includes sponsored search results supplied by a third party.
When Data May Be Shared
Hosting and support providers process our server logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising partners can receive the automatically collected information described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure and not otherwise.
Data Safeguards
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described here. Because the service does not offer accounts, it does not maintain a visitor password or account profile that could be exposed.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact us so it can be deleted.
Your Privacy Choices
The New Jersey Data Privacy Act, P.L. 2023, c. 266, N.J.S.A. 56:8-166.4 et seq., provides covered consumers with rights and includes opt-out concepts for targeted advertising, sale, and universal mechanisms. Publicly available information is treated differently under that law. Since we retain very little information, a request generally involves checking our contact mailbox and available server logs, then removing applicable information. Use the Contact page to make a request. Records held by Paterson, Passaic County, or New Jersey custodians are outside our control, and the applicable custodian or protection program handles a correction or restriction request. New Jersey’s Address Confidentiality Program, N.J.S.A. 47:4-1 et seq., and Daniel’s Law protections administered through the Office of Information Privacy can limit disclosure of protected information.
